Shipyard of Ice

Searing sun burns through me,
Intensified by the ice around.
Masses of ice surround me,
Waiting, like ships aground.

A piece broke off into the water,
"Ahoy there! A ship has launched!"
Slowly, but surely, Mother invades,
And Her flow cannot be staunched.

Her heart pains or weeps I wonder,
As she invades the Earth of Men.
"Earth of Men" - arrogance knows no bounds!
Claiming what belonged to Her, now or then.

She invades, not to punish us,
To Her, our crimes immaterial.
She invades, to repair balance,
Infected by our nature bacterial.

This war will be bloody, death abound,
And soon forgotten, for none to remember.
This shipyard of ice promises me such,
Even in the wintry days of December.
