Close to someone

I say this a lot,
I don't want to get close to anyone.
I say this a lot,
I don't need anyone in my life.
I say this a lot,
My destiny is carved by my own hands.
I say this a lot,
There is nothing in this world that can make me cry.

But when there is a chance,
That I can be close to someone

I try hard,
Getting close to that someone.
I try hard,
In making a bond with them.
I try hard,
To not let go of their hand.
But I don't know how,
It always seems to slip away.

How does it feel,
To be close to someone?
How does it feel,
To share all of your life?
How does it feel,
To sacrifice something for them?
How does it feel,
To know that you have a shoulder to cry?

When there is a chance,
That I can find the answers.

I try hard,
Getting close to that someone.
I try hard,
In making a bond with them.
I try hard,
To not let go of their hand.
But I don't know how,
It always seems to slip away.

I am afraid.
I am scared.
Of the deceit,
and the pain that follows.
I am afraid.
I am scared.
Of expectations,
and my failure to meet them.

But when there is a chance,
That I can be close to someone.

I try hard...
I wonder if its true anymore
I try hard...
I don't believe myself
I try hard....

I can't be close to anyone,
And I know why.

A little rendition :

Sorry my voice hasn't been what it used to be. Also, this was a few minutes quick recording and I didn't bother to clean it up. Just wanted to record the tune that I was humming in my head.

Ive no idea how i decided to read this blog - i was looking for the quotes from House's Season 1, the conversation between House and the jazz musician, and i fell upon the Droughts and Themes blog. And on a random instinct i decided to see this one as well ( random because its very unusual for me to do something like that), and u seem to have written exactly what im feeling. Right now.

Ctrl+D.

In "The note book of Elbert Hubbard", Hubbard writes "The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one". And then, there is this popular adage, "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread". Are these contradictory? Not really. The first advocates taking risks and the second advocates taking measured risks. The only problem is that, a relationship can be an asset or a liability and one does not known which until he/she jumps into it. People who have a very utilitarian view (angels) tend not to tread these paths. Maybe that's why fools fall in love (Believe me, when I say that I am not using "fools" as a derogatory term here. I am using it more in the way how the song I linked to uses it.).
